Job description



The Job Purpose of this position is to effectively manage the department in order to provide and coordinate materials for New Construction, Renovation Projects, and Company needs, at the most cost effective means as possible.



The Purchasing Manager would purchase all types of materials, operating supplies, equipment, and this would involve a proficiency in MRP and forecasting techniques in Material Control System in a cost efficient manner. This position would understand/and or have the ability to learn the complete process of building and renovating hotels from a Purchasing standpoint. This position would have extensive understanding of how products are used, as well as have the knowledge and ability to determine the "proper fit" for Boudl Hotels use.







Primary Objectives Include:



Designs, develops and communicates the purchasing category strategies under their responsibility and drives their company-wide implementation



Manages commodity purchases of copper, steel, aluminum vs. stock market
Understands end-to-end supply chain management; drives value and savings through improved efficiency, optimize inventory and enhanced supply chain performance
Supervises four buyer reports, implements continuous improvements, conducts department meetings and annual performance appraisals
Participates in vendor selection meetings and makes recommendations
Monitor and publish monthly metrics and inventory reporting/tracking
Handles returns, dead stock prevention/follow up and special customer inventory
Works with Pricing Department to ensure correct system costs
Manages year end rebates
Maintains and build positive vendor relations on local and regional levels
Works with vendor and sales/marketing teams to turn inventory
Negotiates into stock pricing special buys and incentive deals
Works with Operations and Warehouse teams to manage inventory issues
Works with Marketing team on slow moving inventory catalogs and new product launches
Oversees special inventory contracts and control
Sets departmental goals and evaluate progress


المهارات


5 - 10 years in Purchasing, Supply Chain and/or Finance roles.


BS/BA in General Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing or a related major required


Self-starter with a proven track record of developing and executing change in a complex environment


Strong influence management, project management, creative problem solving and cross-functional team building skills


Passionate, high-energy individual who can function in a complex, metric-driven environment


Understanding of economics, technical issues and ability to perform independently


Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence with formal presentation of complex material in both small and large group settings


Superior analytical skills and business acumen


Ability to leverage computer software, including ERP Distribution Software (Material control or, SAP, Profit 21, Eclipse, Oracle, etc.), Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other analysis software
